Self Ligating Metal Braces
This type of brace allows for fewer visits to the office because there is no need for the colored elastics to be change for reactivation of the wires. The wire is held into the brace by a clip built into the brace. However we don't want to take the fun out of braces, so you can still get colors put on your braces if you would like them!
Self Ligating Ceramic braces
For patients with aesthetic concerns of braces, Dr. Goodnight offers ceramic braces. Made of translucent material, they are most popular with professional adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. These tend to be more appealing than traditional ceramic braces because they do not need the elastic ligature to hold the wire in place that can discolor. These also allow for fewer visits to the office, like the metal self ligating braces, and that is always a plus with busy schedules.
